In the early hours of July 4th, a devastating flash flood swept through Kerr County, Texas, after a slow-moving storm dropped nearly 12 inches of rain over the two main tributaries feeding the Guadalupe River along with the main headwaters located in Hunt, Texas. The river rose with shocking speed—climbing nearly 20 feet in just 45 minutes—and ultimately surged to heights of up to 35 feet. An estimated 1.2 trillion gallons of water flooded everything in its path, engulfing homes, camps, roads, and entire communities.

This is from our very own Butch and Diane’s rental property neighborhood. The home in the photo was completely swept away by the river — all that remains is the bare slab. Their tenants witnessed the heartbreaking moment this family was carried away by the floodwaters.
Help Families Impacted by the Kerr County Flood
In the early hours of July 4th, a devastating flash flood swept through Kerr County, Texas, after a slow-moving storm dropped nearly 12 inches of rain over the two main tributaries feeding the Guadalupe River along with the main headwaters located in Hunt, Texas. The river rose with shocking speed—climbing nearly 20 feet in just 45 minutes—and ultimately surged to heights of up to 35 feet. An estimated 1.2 trillion gallons of water flooded everything in its path, engulfing homes, camps, roads, and entire communities. Due to the unusual speed with which this tragedy occurred, the whole community was caught completely off guard. Roads disappeared beneath rushing water. Homes and entire campgrounds were swept away and many local neighborhoods were forced into urgent evacuations. Unfortunately, not enough people were evacuated in time. At the present time, sixty lives have been lost, and a devastating number of people remain missing. Families have been displaced, homes destroyed, and the need for immediate assistance is immense. We are right here—on the ground and working directly with those affected. From flooded neighborhoods to emergency shelters, we’re serving families who have lost everything. We’ll be providing essentials, and supporting recovery efforts as they unfold. This has been called a 1-in-100-year flood. It’s a moment of deep heartbreak—but also a chance to show compassion and solidarity. Please donate today. Every dollar goes directly to the people who need it most—right now. We are here. We see the need. And with your help, we will meet it.
