South Africa, a land of many contrasts. It is often described as “the world in one country”.
As one moves across the continent, extreme differences exist in wealth and poverty. More than half the children in South Africa continue to live below the poverty line; one third of girls experience some form of violence before the age of 18; and. two-thirds of children eligible for early childhood development (ECD) programs do not have access to them.
The team of SA Cares for Life are dedicated to being the voice of the poorest of children in our society, the orphans who no one seems to reach. Our children do not have access to some of the essentials of life, and this accelerates our drive to make a difference.
With 19 million children in South Africa, and 13 million of them being without fathers, we also realized the importance of a program addressing fathership in our communities.
We have a dream of keeping families together. So, we must ask the question:
What happens with a child from birth to 18 years old in South Africa? The wealth of our country does not just lie in our produced capital and it does not just lie in our resources, it is in our people. Our skills, our health, our resilience, our knowledge. But the average child born today, in Sub Saharan Africa, will only be 40% as productive as he or she can be, with complete education and full health.
THE SA CARES FOR LIFE’S MODULE IS DESIGNED TO INFILTRATE COMMUNITIES FROM THE INSIDE OUT, AND TO ADDRESS NUTRITION, HEALTH CARE, SAFETY TO WOMAN AND CHILDREN, QUALITY EDUCATION, AND JOBS AND SKILLS TO PARENTS, IN ORDER TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE FROM BEING TRAFFICKED, OR FROM BEING IN DANGER, AND TO GIVE ALL OUR CHILDREN A FAIR CHANCE ON A GOOD FUTURE, WHICH WILL ULTIMATELY SAVE OUR COUNTRY!
